Our very own Club Chairman Rod Lavers was race director of the Chinnor Christian Aid Charity Half Marathon and 10k runs for a ten year period between 1995 and 2005 when current race director Jim Elkins took to the helm.  Between them they have contributed long hours and almost super human efforts to make this hilly multi-terrain course the very popular event that it is today. 

Over the years the course has been raced by thousands of runners, many of whom we see returning year on year to enjoy again.  What remains quite possibly the most unique part of the event is the blessing from the local minister which precedes the race. 

The contribution from Thame Runners in setting out and marshalling the course, timing, scoring and other organisation has also massively helped the Chinnor event become what it is today, a very well organised event to kick off the summer running season.   Sponsored again this year by Elan Printing, download the 2009 entry form here.
