Sunday 27th June 2010
The CPM Thame 10k has become a very popular summer race for both people local to the area and those from further away. For many the Thame 10k has become a regular fixture for their yearly calendar with no less than 94% of runners polled by Runners World Magazine saying they would return to run it again.
Mike Hughes of CPM at the 2007 Thame 10k CPM have been the key sponsor of the Thame 10km for 15 plus years, first sponsoring the event in 1994. One of Thame’s largest employers supplies t-shirts and goodie bags to the runners with its staff cheerfully handing out both at the finish.

It's encouraging for us to see so many familiar faces coming back year after year and we are grateful to receive so many supportive and positive comments posted on the Runners World website. We would like to say thankyou to our other regular sponsors whom have helped make the Thame 10k the great event that it is:
www.thepractice-thame.co.uk Website of sports therapy clinic in Thame providing free pre- and post massage at the Thame 10km as well as sponsoring water station at the half way stage of the run.
Up and Running will be giving out free spot prizes at the race finish. Phil and his team can found at 6 Buckingham Street, Aylesbury (Monday to Friday 10am – 5:30pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm). If you've ever wanted to have your gait analysed, then give them a call to arrange a convenient time (01296 435945).
Thame Leisure Centre (TLC) our event would not be what it is today. TLC is at the Centre of our Community, and we greatly appreciate them openning up their facilities to the participants and families at the Thame 10k.
With your help, the Thame 10k has been able to donate thousands of pounds to local charities over the years and 2009 was no exception with several organisations benefitting from your entry fee:
. Thame Scouts
. St Andrews Lunch Club
. Thame Rotary Club
. Thame Community Car
. Thame Day Centre
. Sustrans
. Thame Cottage Hospital
For 2010 a number of enhancements will remain in place:
· Electronic chip timing to streamline the finish line and provide rapid, accurate timing
· The course will take in more of the Phoenix Trail which provides several km of tarmac, traffic-free running which is safe and scenic, with the new course removing most of the final hill which runners don’t want to see at the end of a race
. Continuation of the temporary road closure of the ring road on the way out and back to Towersey, and extension of this to the start of the race
· New starting area close to the finish line on the playing fields
We expect entries to fill up fast. For the first time there will be NO ENTRIES ON RACE DAY and the race will be limited to 1000 entires to maintain a safe and enjoyable day for everyone. Please avoid disappointment by registering in advance by returning a completed entry form to us, which is available to download.
UPDATE 15/06/2010: The 2010 CPM Thame 10k has reached capacity of 1000 runners and is now full. No more entries will accepted by post or via the runnersworld website and there will be no entries on the day. Thank you to everyone for registering early and for their support of our special event.
