Entry Form for the Thame10k, Sunday 27th June is now available.
For the first time in the race's history, there will be NO "On the Day" entries at the Thame 10k this year. We have held off imposing this restriction for as long as possible, however the scale of our event and the race day organisation it involves no longer allows us the flexibility of offering late entries, so we recommend you enter as early as possible to avoid disappointment. We have been taking entries through the Runners World website for a few weeks already and now the 2010 Thame 10k Entry Form form is available to download from our website. Simply click on the link, print out and return with your payment as per the instructions.
Running Techique Workshop - 27th January
All members are welcome to the "Last Wednesday of the Month" special event for January, with a running workshop following our normal winter training route. Starting at 8:00pm on 27th January at Thame Leisure Centre and presented by George Anderson, local personal trainer and would be Thame Runner, the session will inform us of techniques for better running efficiency and ways to improve breathing and posture.
Chiltern Cross Country Update
|
|
The team travelled all the way to Biggleswade in Bedfordshire for the latest round of the Chiltern Cross Country League on Saturday 16th and there were some strong performances from the team, notably Christine Murray leading the girls home in fine form again and Howard Papworth finishing 1st Vet 50 in the division. Despite our best efforts we slipped one place in the league to 5th place.
The Sail Banner arrived just in time for the trip to Biggleswade and in a flash the 5 meter whopper was erected. What a proud moment for Thame Runners. “May God Bless Her, And All Who Sail In Her”. Eye Eye Cappin !
In review, there was overwhelming support for the course from Thame. It was interesting and challenging enough with a couple of hilly sections, some swooping downhills and was reasonably secure under foot even though there had been the big thaw and some downpours only one or two days before. Thame Tigers big up the "The Biggers" !

Now with only one match to go, we'll be hoping for a good turnout to see if we can secure our best finishing position for several years.
